Can anyone direct to any procedures to removing the rear air suspension in a DII. Try to switch to coils.

Regards,

Charles

I haven't done it (yet) and only know of one person who did. It's not too hard but you'll need to get a shop to use testbook to turn it off. The rest you can do yourself. Remove the air compressor, remove the air springs and you'll then need coils and a few retaining parts that you can order from your dealer. The additional parts are not a big deal and your springs will be the biggest cost factor. Even with having TestBook tell your SLABS unit that you no longer have SLS you might still get an amber warning light after you unplug your SLS but you can physically disable the light at the source.

Charles,

It is not as hard as it seems.

#1 Remove air bags and compressor.

#2 Order and install Lower Spring mounts.

#3 Install springs.

#4 Remove SLS sensor from bracket. Tie off wiring.

#5 Find SLS fuse or have dealer utilize test book to deactivate system.

Talk to Jason Bard, he has recently done this on his D2. jjbard@adelphia.net
