I get about 13 mpg in the city with my 99 discoII. This is perfectly fine. On the highway I get 15 mpg. This is a little on the low side. The vehicle is stock except for a K&N. I was wondering if anyone knew why I might get factory numbers for in city but below factory for highway. |

Lee - Your numbers aren't that far off. A lot has to do with the way you drive and the speed you drive and also whether you have extra accessories like roof racks and lights on. Are you running premium grade fuel? The topic is being discussed here already: ../2/30163.html"#333333"> |

The factory numbers are really achieved by driving at the set speed limit in the most optimistic conditions that can ever happen. I get about 11mpg in the city, and 14-15 on the highway on my 03 Disco. |

15mpg is a little low? Hell, be happy with what you got. I get about 12.5 on average. If I am pulling a trailer it may be 8-10. One time though, at band camp, I got 15 mpg on a trip to CO. I was elated. I had no idea my rig would do so well. FYI - I am running 265/75's and Chevron Premium when available You are doing fine. |
