O.K. I've been dealing with a minor power steering leak for a few weeks now. I replaced a few of the POS hose clamps and thought I had solved the problem. However, this morning I try to get to work and the fluid has leaked all over the ground. Now, I briefly discussed changing the seals before. What I'd like to know is this. How can I tell if the seals are all I need to replace or if the pump itself is bad. I will try adding more fluid to see how long it holds it... Thanks in advance. Daniel |

Alright , walked over to a nearby shop and the guy there wants to replace the box w/a rebuild rather than changing the seals. Sounds fine, but they want to charge for removing/reinstalling the piman arm. My shop manual doesn't mention this. Is there another name for this? Thanks, -D

The drop arm, it's the arm coming off the bottom of the box. It has to be swapped to the new box. |
