I just got my 97 SD7 back from the body shop after a fender bender (not my fault). No major damage, only body panels, bumper replaced. About 5 miles from the shop the oil light comes on. I freak out, shut it down and check for leaks. None, check oil, it's about 2 quarts low. Not a biggie as it's been sitting a couple of weeks. Gravity I guess. I fill it up expecting the light to go off. It did for about 60 seconds and then came back on. I'm almost home at this point so I go for it. As I pull in the driveway, the ticking is getting louder so I shut it down again. No leaks anywhere, level is OK. On startup, the light is off for about a minute then comes back on. Any ideas? Oil pump? It is controlled electronically? Surely not. |
