I know i've ventured way off topic here, I'm not even on solid groud. But just wondering if there are any other water lovers or if anyone knows a boating site at least half as good as Discoweb is for my other love.

Thanks
Peter

Not sure about a site as good as Discoweb, but I personally love sailing :-) of course maybe spend 11 years in the Navy may have something to do with that.

Of course Boating with a Motor isn't bad either.

What kind of boating? I used to white water alot till a few bad pins in class 4/5 water. I got older and didn't like the idea of drowning. But I picked up a touring kayak and fell in love with the sport. Wouldn't mind finding a website to meet other boaters. Also anyone who is a touring kayaker and wants to go boating let me know. I live in utah so lake powell is a incredible in a touring boat, so is yellow stone lake in wyoming. Sorry, my idea of a boat doesn't have a motor. :-)

Andy,

Ed just bought a Tri-Foiler. If you are not sure what this is, then just think of it as an F-1 car for sailboats. 50MPH!!

Yeah , I was kinda fishing for motor boats, I have a Fourwinns 255 Sundowner, I've never actually sailed , but I figured I could try that once gas money runs out....hehehe, I'm also a fan of canoing and kyaking but I don't own either, I usualy rent, but no white water stuff for ME , the wake of a duck swiming by causes enough tip over PANIC !
Thanks for the feed back

Peter , try yahoo groups for great lakes boating clubs and info, i used to have formula 303sr1 with twin 454 mag's at diversy harbour but sold it to my brother. Im planning on a either a 40ss or a 45' sunseeker with arneson surface drives for next year if business picks up.

I went White Water Rafting on the New River in WV yesterday, what a blast. I know it didn't have a motor either.

Peter, Try boatus.com it has some pretty good discussion groups. I just bought a new boat last month and did a lot of research using it. Good Luck.

Peter, I just bought a 20' Playbouy pontoon boat. Not a real fast one but enough for the family to enjoy and spread out on. seats 12 so room for plenty of friends also. Great party boat. So far I have taken it out on Lake Ossipee in NH, later today to Lake Winnisquam again in NH. How about you?

I have a 26' Fourwinns, I live very close to Lake Michigan so I do all my boating out there , just north of Chicago. Monitoring weather tends to become a second hobby when boating out there....hahah.
