could some one post a pic of what the temp sending unit looks like on a 97 disco V8? i think mine may be stuffed but want to make sure. the temp gauge is very erratic. steaming hot. then when i turn the ignition off then on it is frezzing cold.i have replaced the thermostat and done a full flush. is it the big plug that screws into the thermostat housing? or the one on the top on the manifold behind the dizzy....HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |

The big one with 2 wires is for the condensor fans.The guage one is the little one with 1 wire. the one with the square plug is for the injection. |

sweet thanx!!!! ive just pulled it out and the copper/brass part was gunked up. bad?? looked like corrosion. used a very fine file to clean it all up. cleaned up the contact point for the wire plugged it all up. ran the truck for 25 mins. it usually showed red hot after 15. stone cold. well..about normal anyways. i have done away with the thermostat as i thought this was the prob. should i replace it or f@#k it? im trading it in this week anyways.... |
