For one thing it is illegal to remove or disable the ABS system in a vehicle that came with it. This is at least true in the state of Florida. If you have inspections it may fail if the ABS system is not intact. The best way to disable the system would be to pull the fuse out. This will turn the light on and the system will not activate from this point. If the rubbing you brought up is in the form of slight marks on the end of the sensor this is normal. If you remove the rest of the sensors you will see this on them as well. The proper way to install the sensor is to gently press it down until it stops. The axle movement will push it up slightly to the correct position. Have you read the faults in the ABS ECU? If you have I would probably list them in your post. This would generate a better response and a possible repair to your ABS troubles. Even if you haven't read the faults I would list the attempted repairs and visual inspections performed to start to narrow the causes. Many people on this board will not answer such a open question without some insight from the person posting. |
