I have a 1996 Disco SD with 80k. The front shocks were replaced at 60k and the rear are original. The springs are also original. I had 2 discs removed and find the ride too bumpy. It might be that I am just not built for the truck ride. I was hoping that some of you could help me figure out if a softer ride obtainable? I know there are medium and heavy duty springs, are there light duty springs. Do bilsteins make the ride softer or stiffer? I was planning on just getting new stock rear shocks and seeing what that did. I didn't want to throw a lot of money at this because I might have to sell the truck. Bumber. Thanks, -Peter

I think the disco might be too heavy, even unladen, for soft springs but medium OME's are pleanty soft. Combine that with bilstein shocks all around and you'd be hard pressed to find a truck with a better ride! You might also want to contact Ole Man Emu and talk to them about your situation. Good Luck |

lol.... wow... and I always thought the Disco had a soft ride. I'm really not kidding either. My Disco (with HD springs) has a softer ride over large holes or speed bumps than the wifes X5. Peter, how much air do you have in the tires? |

Discos do have a soft ride, the softest is with a stock setup. Bilstien or OME will stiffen ride, especially springs. |
