Has any one put an MSd on a '99 DS2 if so how difficult is it? And are there any compatability issues ie: setting off warning lights. Also what kind of performance gain was there? Thanks

MSD = multiple spark discharge unit it's an aftermarket unit designed to increase power efficiency etc.

MSD is really a good ignition. Don't know how well it would benefit a stock Rover engine.
Others to consider, if they make them for Rover, are Mallory and Jacob Electronics.
I ran Mallory in my pro-street Olds 482 cu.in. and I liked it.
Have you checked RPI to see what they offer ?

Why ??? There is nothing wrong with the factory set up. I doubt if you would have any difference in performance. Now if you swapping out an old points/condensor set up out of an old Series LR, thats a different animal...and would make sense.

The MSD makes the spark burn for a longer duration than just one "zot". You get a "Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Zot".

Several years ago, I had a '68 Alfa with a tired 1750 engine - sloppy valve guides and fairly worn Weber DCOE 40's. It had the Magnetti Marelli distributor and electonic ignition.
It failed Calif. smog hydrocarbons at 900 ppm. NOx was O.K. The limit was 500 ppm for that year car. What to do?
Try an MSD or rebuild the engine.
After the MSD was installed, the hydrocarbons test at 450 ppm. Cut'em in half. Passed. Thank you, MSD.
