Well, it looks like the 2003 TReK competition is over, and instead of using the 2003 Disco, they have used 2004 versions....with the CDL. Here is a little more info:

"Burns and his crew feel it’s the most capable Discovery ever built, and the terrain in Colorado was a perfect place to showcase the full extent of its capability."

That is a hefty claim. Could be...

lutherns vary by geography. now back in Missouri they were borderline crazy in my opinion, but here in the east they "seem" pretty normal. :-)
badass = fire and brimstone holy smolly stuff?

As always TReK was pretty neat, particularly when the "old" guys walked away with the trophy. Just goes to show that old age and treachery beats youth everytime. But seriously, you wonder why G4 wasn't more like TReK. A competition where driving is actually important and where you actually need a 4x4.

The 04 disco is the Disco LR should have built back in 98! Add OME 2 inch springs and 245s and you've got yourself a pretty awesome 4x4. Better get them before the 05s come!

LR also introduced the limited edition (200 each) Discovery and Freelander G4, for those who like all the lettering...

G4 will be on OLN later this month, and TReK 03 sometime in the fall.

Anyone gone to LR's latest driving school in Canda??

I didn't even realize we had one here until today. Too bad it's in Montreal and not further west. Pretty long drive for me. I would have thought further west, like here in Alberta would have been better as far as variable terrain goes but oh well. At least there's one here.

Come on Alan, you know Canada ends at the Manitoba/Ontario border. LOL

The pics are up from the Dealer event I snuck into down in Utah over the May long weekend. http://www.landroverutah.com/galleryMain.htm

Amazing event, well organized and attended. They even gave me a T-shirt.

Jason - that is a hefty claim but in reality couldn't you achieve the same thing in a D1 just by putting Truetracs in both the front and rear diff...that is if we're going to compare apples to apples?

Shawn - hehe...yeah, and I'm sure the easteners think Canada and Ontario are interchangeable. LOL Just kidding you eastern Canucks! :-)
