This excerpt is from this month's LRW magazine: "Defender drivers are the least likely to get hurt in accidents with other cars, according to official government figures. They suffered fewer injuries than drivers of any other cars, analysis of hundreds of thousands of accidents has shown. Almost three quarters of Defender drivers walked away totally unscathed from two-car smashes that happened between 1996 and 2000. And only one in a 100 suffered serious injuries or died. Drivers of all other vehicles on Britain's roads suffered worse, though Discovery drivers were almost as fortunate. Drivers of Range Rovers (pre-October '95 models), Jeep Cherokee, Mitsubishi Shogun, Toyota Landcruiser and Isuzu Trooper fared well in accidents, but soft roader drivers got hurt often. Those at the wheel of the Suzuki SJ/Samurai (pre-July '96) were killed or seriously injured just as frequently as people driving Metros. Drivers of the Suzuki Vitara and the Toyota RAV-4 were five times more likely to get killed or seriously injured than Defender drivers. The old Jaguar XJ and the 1991 Mercedes S-Class were the only saloons that received top ranking." A page after this article, there was a small blurb about what a sales success the new RR were but apparently the surprise perfomer was the Defender with an 18% increase in sales. The RR sales were 11% higher than last year. How many more signs does Ford need before they will bring the Defender back to NA?????????????? And I don't mean some wacky futuristic model. I mean the current one as is!!!

I would be first in line if they brought back the 110 - as close to the style of the last shipment as possible! Either way - I will one day own my own 110! Kenny |

I kinda guess the Defender is like Chebby and Ford pickup trucks here with a pinch of Jeep added for off road ability. I know here in NC 4WD pickup trucks are being sold by the dozens. I saw an add for Dodge trucks in England and from the add it sounded like they wanted a pretty penny for them. Kind of like the Defenders over here.... Max T. Its all backwards. We'll send them our Dodge trucks and they can send us their Defenders!! |

Ha!!! Hey we may not have those Amish chicks with unshaven armpits that you dig so much but at least we have the "jersey girls" that drive around in Camaros and Trans-ams and chew gum all the time . Oh and you can't mess with them, Uncle Tony two-toes and cousin Joey fat-cheeks will come back with a baseball bat, beat you up and throw you at the Bayonne bridge. LMAO Glenn
