Iam looking to put 4 IPF968 lights on my roof rack and was trying to figure out the best place to run the wire. Can anyone explain it to me or does anyone know of a webpage that shows how to do it. Thanks ~Casey |

I was thinking about running mine through the gutter and the rear side panel and into the headliner. I haven't done it so who knows if it's a good way. Otherwise you can run down the windshield weather stripping. I think thats what most disco guys do. However, they have an easy way down onto the firewall. Another guy detailed his install in a disco. It's basically the same except he didnt mess with the weather stripping. http://www.geocities.com/baja/canyon/4628/ I'm kinda interested to know how Land Rover ran the wire in the Great Divide rovers. Other than the Camel Trophy, I think they are the only official RRC's with lights on the roofrack. You can always drill the roof but that might be asking for trouble. That option is out for me because I'm too paranoid the thing with leak or I'll want to loose the lights and be stuck with a hole in my roof. |

I ran mine out of the vents under the rear panel. You can unscrew the black panels off from the inside then run your wires through the flapper type checkvalves located in the vent area. This is suppose to help the A/C move air one way out of the vehicle. Then the wire can be run up to the gutter to your rack. I'd use a two wire trailer type weather proof connector in the even you might want to remove the rack. |

No problem, Casey. What kind of roof rack do you have? I still think it wouldn't be that hard to run the wire between the panel and gutter. Running it into the vent seems the next best thing though. I go back and forth about whether or not I want lights on my rack. I'm concerned about the wind noise at highway speed and eventually I want a roof tent on my hannibal rack so that might interfere with the lights I want. Anyways, I'd be interested to know what you eventually decide to do. Cheers. |

Ian, I have a Garvin Wilderness rack. Iam still not sure how Iam gonna run the wires. Taking it through the back panel is the best idea but Iam not sure that I want to run all that wire back to the front of the car and getting it under the weather striping down the windshield is going to be a real pain. My brother is going to help me with the project and he knows more than I do so whichever one he feels like doing we will do. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again ~Casey |
