I'm taking the family camping for a few days in Acadia National Park in Maine then up to Quebec City. In QC were camping at Mont Sainte Anne. I went to Acadia last year and it was incredible, never been to Quebec City. Any suggestions on what to see? |

John- I have been there to mountain bike and I thought it was very nice. Tons of history and a great shopping district, one of the oldest in North America I believe. Very cool old buildings and the people are very friendly. The drive up is quite boring but the beer and wine selection is worth it alone. Fill up in the states though because the gas prices are very high! I stayed in a awesome condo for about $65.00 a night. Have fun! |

Tim, your right about the gas. Last time I went to Montreal, between the conversion from US to CND $ and liters to Gallons I was completely lost! Can't wait for some time off, the record business has not been very fun lately. |

The 2003 Ben & Jerry's "One World One Heart" (music/political) festival was cancelled this year. They noted a downturn in the music industry as one of the reasons. |

the old city is cool...i hear it is the oldest walled city in north america. i agree about food and beer. there are lots of tourist crowds in the old town, though. chute montmorancy is a pretty cool waterfall and i think you will drive right past on the way from the mtn. good mtn biking in some of the ski areas. |

I just got back. What a great trip. Acadia was beautiful as ever. If you enjoy day hiking it's a must do. I was suprised it wasn't as packed as it might have been for August. We camped at Blackwoods campground in the National Park. Quebec was much fun. The old city was great. We spent a day there. Good beer and eats. On the second day we drove up to Grands-Jardins Prov. Park. Very Nice. I took the disco down a few isolated logging trails. Though we didn't take our bikes, there was some serious Mtn biking at Mtn Sainte Anne. Mikeb - Drove pass montmorancy falls sereral times. Incredible! Man gas was expensive! $80 Canadian to fill up on medium grade! Next camping trip - Vermont for the British Invasion! Tim - I like good ice cream - but Ice Cream with a polical message might make me puke! |

glad you had fun, john! i would say you should see the falls in the winter time, but the photo on your profile makes me think you would not be that impressed (but it amazes a texan!). i usually ice climb in a town east of quebec city at least once a year, but the falls are on my checklist! |

John- Mt. Sainte Anne was were we raced and it has some great singletrack. My favorite memory of the trip was seeing a guy in a wheelchair absolutely bomb a downhill and not crash. At the bottom of the hill he one hands the lift chair and pulls himself up. Then quickly one hands the wheelchair and pulls it into the lift chair to do more runs. What an inspiration! It certainly made my bad placing in my race seem quite inconsequential. |
