Not sure if you are having the same problem as I did but pop off the rear Land rover oval on the back door and spray some kind of lubricant in there to grease the door opening mechanism. The same thing happened to mine not to long ago and this did the trick |

Yes Regis do what Thomas suggested. I used a few sprays of white lithium grease and then the rear door opened. |

Does the LR badge pop off with a flathead screwdriver? Is there anything else I should look for? Sometimes it seems when I fix one thing I break two or three to get to it. Can I use something like WD40? Thanks... |

The badge pps off very easily. It is rather fragile, the clips can break. I have to do this all the time. My handle sticks, too. Easy fix if that's your problem. |

Hi Regis WD40 will work but dries out very quickly, leaving you back at square one. use a good sticky grease, I use motorcycle chain lube, that stuff never comes off! Best of luck Pete S |

Happened to me too. Really bummed me out but got the same solution mentioned here. The logo thing has a small indent at the bottom. A small screw drive just pops it right off no problem. A quick spray with wd40 did the trick. I think something sticky might work better. But I wonder if it could possibly attract and collect dirt in certain driving conditions. I'm thinking maybe just watching it and maybe a preventive spray now and again. |

chris it could be the internal latch.they are riveted together and overtime work loose and allow the locking mechanism to fall on its own.if the lock falls when you pull the handle to open the door the latch is probly shot and needs to be replaced. |
