What is a good price to pay for a 99 D1 with 65,000 miles? The truck is in really good shape with no dents or scraches. I have seen 99 D1's go anywhere from 10K to 22K. That just seems to be a big jump. Kelly Bule Book says 16K. The car lot is asking 17,500. Is that fair?

15 -17k was the range I was in when trying to sell my 99 D2 with 80k miles on it. I took it off the market though...

65k - that's just over 15k miles per year. Not too bad - as long as it wasn't abused too badly off road.

The market is rough right now for sellers based on my experience. You should be able to talk the price down a little more at the very least.

17,500 is still high and anyone asking 22k is rapping you right there on the lot. i just sold a '00 with 50K and all the trimmings for around 17K.
wholesale on a '99 D1 with those mile is about 13K or so.
and remember KBB is always going to be high.

You should really be able to find one of that year/mileage for about $15k. You could always check out what the same/similar vehicles have sold for over the past 3 months on eBay to show you where the actual price points are.

I've mentioned this before, but back in Feb 03 I bought my 99 DI with 60k miles on ebay for $12K. Several others went for $13-15K during that time frame. Of course, its ebay and not your local car lot. Expect to pay a bit more locally.

I just got a the truck. Well, my wife just got the truck. 99 SD, pretty plain, no sun roofs, green, 65,XXX miles. Oil leaks and transmission seal leaks... I got the truck for 12,550.00. I don't guess it's too bad of a deal.

Being on the selling end of one of these $40k vehicles is a truly frustrating experience. I felt I had no choice but to keep mine because of the lousy market. And eBay only makes it worse...buyers market for sure.
