My, how time flys when I'm having fun. Nearly two years to the day I bought my '01 DII, and boy, have I learned a lot! I've been on DiscoWeb a couple of months longer than that, reading until I was nearly blind. That's been mostly fun, too.

Build issues? Not a thing to complain about. Driving the truck is unmitigated joy. Sure, it's to this point almost exclusively an on-road vehicle but I'm keeping my low range operable with little forays on the farm. The stereo stays lubed, too, as I go from chore to chore down here in the holler. Go ahead, laugh now, but I just rolled over 18,000 miles today :-) Made the 24th payment today and, as always, not a moment's resentment at writing the check.

What have I learned that I'm able to use right now? Well, less than I wish since we're confined mostly to pavement right now, but David and I DID laugh when I spotted some chromed diff guards on a pick-up yesterday. Front diff had one plate on the front and the rear diff had one plate on the back. Hell, even *I* knew it was purely bling factor. Thanks for all the fun guys!

Karen :-)

Karen - Congratulations!!!

Wow, 18K miles in two years... I put 34K miles in my first year of owning my 99D1. Of course our commute was 60-70 miles a day during the week plus weekend excursions. Now I have 70K miles but it is now 4 years old. So in 3 years time I only added another 36K. She's taking it easy now since we bought a house 1.5 miles from work

Well, congrats again and I hope we would still have this conversation when our discos roll-over (the odometer, that is ).

Glenn

i think you will have to travel the farm and drag her ass from the barn to get her there. then duct tape her to the roof of the rover. then maybe she will calm down enough to put inside the truck. :-)

Alan, from your lips to God's ears! I'm hoping for the same :-)

Sus, it looks like David and I won't even be getting our customary one week away this year, let alone a foray to MAR. Keep the estrogen fires burning until I make it, O.k. ? :-)

Glenn, I know, I know, my commute being about 100 feet, it's not like I stress the hell out of my Disco, LOL! I'm the perfect person to buy from though, since I'm keeping the low range gears lubed despite not using them much!

gp, I'd LOVE to get away from the barn! Wanna farm sit???? As for duct tape, it doesn't make me quiver unlike some of the characters in those movies you and Rob like to watch......LOL!

Karen :-)

Come one Karen, bring the horses to the Pond!! I'd be happy to entertain the four-leggeds and four-wheelers while we are there!
I understand how busy things get...I don't get any time off from work until January b/c of the time we took for the honeymoon. Life's little sacrifices!

From Discovery ownership to estrogen fires...this place never ceases to amaze me.

It's amazing how our minds work, isn't it Tim?!

I just think we need a few more 'cool' people at MAR! :-)

My simple goal is to someday have a Rover I trust enough to attend an event such as MAR. But ideally I would have it in Feburary so I could escape the sub-30's we have here during that time.
