Anyone have some pictures of how there Pelican Cases are used. I want to see how you arrange the inside of them. A buddy of mine just got a case for his Laptop and it looks real nice. I was thinking about a bigger case(s) for tools and such.

I highly recommend the Pelican Cases that EE carries. I have put the cases that I purchased to the test in the last few weeks.

I had always thought purchasing Pelican Cases was ridiculously extravagant - however now I am a believer for sure. They are more than well worth the cost.

If you do purchase any of the cases, I can offer a bit of advice: don't use 3M spray adhesive to glue the outer pieces of foam to the pick and pull foam when you get it sized right for your contents. I tried that. The 3M spray glue worked so well for carpet, that I thought using it for foam would be a great timesaver. I made a HUGE mess.

I was concerned I would destroy the foam by using Goo Gone to remove the spray adhesive - but, I tried it because the foam was just totally squashed in places with spray glue - so I did not have anything to lose by trying it. I could not believe how well Goo Gone cleaned up my mess. I did soak the foam in a safe solution of soapy water to make sure that all residue was removed so that equipment would not be harmed.

The foam they use in those cases is a masterpiece. Whoever invented that foam was brilliant. I have NEVER seem foam that is SO DENSE. After handling it with my glue fiasco - I more than trust it to protect ANY equipment. That foam is so dense, strong, and tight that it took 2 days in the hot sun to totally dry it out. It is in perfect condition even though I "abused" the foam with my unintentional experiment.

Needless to say, they insides of the cases are as tough as the outside of the cases - and, I've had occassion to test them too. My only complaint might be that the cases are not available in pink, at least not yet?

The bigger cases are great for heavy stuff - there is a handle that slips out and you can pull the cases since they have wheels on them.

Even though case + contents can be heavy, they are still designed so that the mass is still efficient. Did you understand that? Here is good example, I pulled heavily filled case to back of my rover, closed the handle, go it into the cargo area, then was able to stand in the cargo door opening to get the heavy case up on the back of the roof rack. The way that it was designed with the size, bulk, and weight distribution - I was able to manage getting the case up on rack without using other leverage or ladder. Maybe that made sense??

Buy one case, and you'll be saving up your money for more. I know someone who has used the same pelican case for over ten years and that case takes a beating! I think it will still be around when all us humans are gone!

I think I should add one more thing to my post. When I received my cases from EE, I wondered why my shipment was separated and the rest of what I ordered did not arrive from UPS at the same time.

I was busy, so I was not concerned. When I got around to opening the boxes for the Pelican Cases, I was surprised by what I found inside. My more delicate items that I ordered (like lights) were inside the cases!!

They shipped beautifully inside them with no damage. I remember thinking that John Lee REALLY DOES trust these cases when I removed the rest of my order!! :-) :-)
