What would you recommend for brake pads. Mintex or OEM. Mintex seems to be alot cheaper. What about noise. If i go with mintex what can i put on to reduce noise from the brakes |

I've had good luck with the Ferodo's on my D2 but I think they're more expensive than the Mintex. |

I use Ferodo's also and am happy with them, ie. they stop, don't make any noise, and only seem to generate a lot of brake dust for the first couple of thousand miles. I think they're about $10 more than Mintex. Never having used Mintex, I could'nt tell you if they are worth the difference. |

On my second set of Ferodos and they are starting to sqeak again! Maybe it take a few miles to break them in - I am about 1K into the new ones. Its not that bad at all. They last a while - about 25K for me in Atlanta stop and go traffic. They also come with new bolt for your calipers. about $200 @ Atlanticbritish.com |

Just in case anyone needs rear rotors and pads for the discoII try tirerack.com I got mine from them and they were the cheapest. The rotors were about 25.00 cheaper per rotor and the pads were around 15.00 cheaper. Hope this helps.

Only use oem brake pads. All aftermarket brake pads are to harsh for the rotor. And you going to end up with sqeak. Ive tried Mintex and Ferodos. Switch back to oem. |

Call Nathan at www.discountrovers.com and he'll hook you up. I've got Ferodos all the way around on the D2, and OEM on the D1. D2 stops better, but always has. I'm pleased with the Ferodos, and they aren't squeking on the D2 like the OEMs did. |
