Time for third set of tires at 103K. Being suggested that rather than Michelin 235/70/HR16 -Synchrone I go with Toyo 255/65/H16. Considerable saving and 30 day trial period. Looking for feedback and comments please

Chris - nothing really other than a possible savings of $200+. However, I am trying to find out if there are any downsides. Thanks

Of course there are, otherwise you wouldn't be saving $200.
If you don't want to go with Michelins, buy a set of BFG All Terrains - they are quieter than XPCs, and seem to be the best on/off road compromise. But you won't save anything here.
You can go with Michelin LTX - they are likely to have D load rating, be a bit noisier than XPC, wear a bit quicker, and be worse off road. You'll save something like $30 per tire.

You can also go with Goodyear Fortera's they are very good on road and provide good grip off road, except in really heavy mud! I bought mine for $106 a piece!!!

I bought Cooper Discoverer S/T's at about $115.00 a piece for size 245/75/16's and they look good, ride good, and aren't noisy on road, and can handle their own off road. Just a suggestion if you are looking to save a dollar.

The local Discount Tire store is selling Yoko Geolander AT+ II in 245/75-16 for $85 each, mounted & balanced. Kind of hard to beat that deal, and it sounds like a very good AT choice.

If you have Discount Tire stores near you (www.tires.com), you might see if they will match that deal. The online price at tires.com seems to be significantly higher.
