I've got a 95 disco with 102K. I have owned it for a little over a year and gotten most of the truck the way I want it (90K service, other new bits). The only thing it needs before winter is some undercoating protection.

Long story short I'm on top of the maintenance and the truck is in great shape and working order.

I'm trying to get a handle on what to expect for annual maintenance costs going forward.

I figure my first year of ownership was a bit high because of the 90K and minor other things purchased to bring the truck up to good mechanical standings.

I also realize that as I roll on the miles I'll probably run into more "one-off" items that need replacing like an alternator, radiator, etc... In my 10-years of car ownership I have never used the services of a mechanic; I worked as a mechanic through college.

So, labor aside, does anyone have a guess at what either annual maintenance or $-per mile might run for parts and supplies.

I know this is a long shot, but I was curious what others thought...

My service dept. told me to budget $1500 annually and that is with their labour I am guessing. That is Canadian funds too!

So far in year 1 of ownership of a D-90 with a little over 100k on the OD:
1 Gears in rear third member went. Bought used one for $400
2 Clutch fan died. Bought electric fan for $200
3 Rear brakes went. New Discs and new pads $200
4 While doing brakes found some bad seals. New seals $20
5 Front shocks went. $200 for new shocks.
6 Transfer case broke some teeth. Bought rebuilt $1400
Total so far $2420 not including little misc parts and small odd jobs. I included the bad seals because in the dealer-ship it would be over $200 to change them. I may be at the extreme but I am just giving you an idea. I am also like you I do all the work myself to save $$$.
