Has anyone replaced O2 sensors (OEM #70399A) with Nissan parts?
Chk dis out...
http://www.d-90.com/faq/Engine/EngExhaust.html
And here:
http://www.rangerovers.net/rrparts4.html

It appears same manufacturer (NTK) makes for number of cars (Nissan Maxima?), but are substantially less $$. Also, there seems to be an issue with 4 wire to 3 wire @ sensor (one extra for data ground).

From D-90:
"Now if you have the OBD-II system, you need a *four wire* sensor. My crossover number is Nissan 22690-85E10, though I haven't tried it yet. The best price I've found is around $77."

Bosch part# 13388 is also referenced, 4-wire version, but with 2 connectors. thoughts on this?

will,
the main difference between the 3 and 4 wire sensors is the 3 wire sensor grounds through the housing for the heater circuit. the 4 wire has a ground line that returns to the ecu chassis ground. the sense line and the sense return lines are the same for both.
so what's the point in using the 4 wire versus the 3, well, the 4 wire is an improvement on the 3 wire. the 3 wire sensors would build up corrosion on the ground point (ie where the o2 sensor screws into the exhaust pipe) and the o2 sensor would lose its pre-heat feature which means that the o2 sensor would take longer to come to operating temp, which would take the vehicle longer to go in to a closed loop.
so in laymens terms: buy the 4 wire sensor check oxygensensor.com for generic or oe type (the difference is the plug) and you won't create more problems for yourself down the road. i think the generic are around $90.
good luck
marc
oh, and as far as o2 sensors go, as long as the thread pitch and wires are the same there are no major differences in the sensors. all they do is sense unburned o2 in your air/fuel mixture before and after the cats, doesn't matter if its a rover, ford, chevy etc... they all work the same way, and they all produce the same voltage (in an OBD2 system that is)
hope that helps?

I cannot see any reason to use the Nissan ones anymore. Yes, it is the exact same sensor as NTK Technical Ceramics supplies to Rover, but with a different connector. Last time I checked, the Nissan ones were *more* than Nathan Crabtree at discountrovers.com was charging, then you still had to splice the connectors.

Cheers
