I had a quick question about the AC system. The compressor is belt driven, correct? Well, as of late the AC system hasnt been very cool, so I just dont run it. So, we recharged the system with a new bottle of R134a, and it's still not getting cold. After we recharged it, I was watching the compressor. It looks like it has some sort of magnetic drive or clutch. The outer wheel will spin with the serpentine belt, and then when it needs to engage, the center will engage and begin to spin. How often should it switch back and forth? My compressor would turn on for about 3 seconds, shut off for 3, turn on for 3, shut off for 3. I wonder if something is wrong. Anyone have some ideas?
