Does anyone know who to contact about problems with the discovery series II. I have had it since 2001, I bought it used so no use talking to the dealer. I wanted to complain to Land Rover that I have had nothing but problems with it since I have owned it. The check engine light used to come on all the time. I took it to the dealer and the kept saying I need to replace this and that but it still kept coming on. Finally I took it to another mechanic and had the plug wires changed and it hasn't come back on. Now the light keeps coming on, and the code was for no speed sensor signal. It is starting to slip every now and then with only 86,000. I thought these were tough vehicles that could go anywhere. Instead the only place it seems to go is the shop. I just had the radiator rebuilt about a month ago. I will never own another used Land Rover again. |

You may have gotten an abused rover or one that came back under the lemon law and was resold. Just a thought. Try to obtain vehicle history from the dealer on other reputable source. Find out what's up before you condemn it. |

"I will never own another used Land Rover again." I give you credit. At least you are open to LR after your experience Be patient. You may have a lemon so far, but it might also turn around for the better. After all, if you have this much invested you might as well see what happens. Your rig will be an excellent vehicle one day. See if that day can happen with you as the owner. Good Luck, Curtis |

Hey Jon Curtis is right, I bought my Lemon brand new on 4/99 and up 40-50k it was a complete nightmare. I called road recovery so often that i memorized there # and my vin, local tow companies started recognizing me. But I must say, its pretty ok now. I'm not willing to go back to the dealer for much so i do most of my maintaince. Dont give up on it yet. As far as LR, you can file a complaint with the Atty Gen for you state. Good luck |

Jon, Where do you live? Or about where? Maybe someone knows of a good shop within striking distance. |

I live in Lafayette Indiana. I first was told by the dealer to replace to fuel pump because it was having so many different misfire codes. Still a problem, then I was told to do a 70,000 mile service for 300.00 didn't fix a thing. Had three belts break because one of the tensioner pulleys broke. Finally it was a recall on the pulley. Had a antifreeze leak under the trottle body. Fixed it once and had to take it back to the dealer and it was also a recall. Radiator went out at 85,000 miles. Ha doto rebuild it because they are over 600.00 brand new. And now finally the transmision light keeps coming on and says po722 which is a speed sensor code error. Which it is now starting to slip. That about covers it. |
