I spotted you several times this past week, past you more than once. You were staying on Tanya St., just a few blocks from me in Kill Devil Hills. I was in the green D1 with Wilderness racks. Anyway, if you are out there, hello again.

Not an XD but I'll be in the area in about a week for two weeks! :-)

How's the water?

Hey Al. The water according to the lifeguard stands was in the mid 70's. I heard on the news down there that this is way cooler than normal due to the Labrador current running further west than usual or something like that.

If you get down to Rt. 12, just before the 168/12 junction, there is a gas station on the left with a yellow series II I think (its old, that's for certain). Wife didn't feel "we" had time for a good look.

I just moved to NC. If anyone has good info on any trails or beach 4x4ing in the OBX area that would be great.

I sampled Weeping Radish Weizen and Pale while I was down there. I highly recommend both!

wow...there is a blast from the past...i went to grad school at old dominion and we would drive down to the radish every now and then for beers...

if it is anything like it was in the early 90's, yeah...go man, go!

question: is pedro's south of the border still around?

Mike
Just to let you know, yes South of the Border is still around. In fact, the Travel Channel just listed it as number 7 or 8 on its "10 Best Truck Stops in the World" The signs start 125 miles North and South on I95. It is kind of pathetically amusing.

i am glad to hear it! i have not been that way since i left grad school in the spring of '92 and i often wonder about that place...!

it did become quite entertaining to pass the 8752 billboards that proceed it...!

thanks, matt
