This roof rack cost about 150.00 to make using 1/2" elec conduit, 1/2" square tubing, 1"x1/8 flat steel, 1" angle iron, a sheet of 14 gauge alum diamond plate, and i piece of lexan 1/4", the total weight is about 65 lbs and is very low slung, along with the lexan shield, i am still pulling 16/18 mpg hwy use @ 65/75 mph, i have had 300+ lbs up there and no probs, the size of the flat floor is 52"x72", This is the model for a new one to be built next spring, There is no better way to find what could be improved until i built one and am finding what i dont like! oh one more thing, There is NO noise!!! pretty interesting peter, very tight across the rear roof...i see you have sunroofs, but i am guessing you will not be opening the rear one! i like the one level look. do your lights project throught the lexan pretty well or does it distort the beam? mike |

Yes the back is low, about 1" from roof, the whole rack sits about 1/2" above the stock rails, I'm guessing the sun roof would open in the front(if it worked) and i have no rear, The lights are only 35 watt worklamps for better side vision, there is very little distortion or light into cab, and they will never get broken behind the lexan, two more to be installed shortly facing sideways.
