Well I smoked my starter, and I don't mean in any sort of slang usage I'm talking literal white clouds. So....it's time to turn this unfortunate replacement into a welcome upgrade. The Landy isn't my daily driver so it's not a total crisis, but I would like to get it rolling soon. In the interest of time I was hoping to find a supplier for the mean green closer to me to cut down on waiting for shipping. Anyone have any ideas? thanks and happy trails. |

http://www.4x4connection.com/ carries Mean Green and they ship fast! They're in Virginia and open @9am EST tommorrow. That's about 6am your time. You should be able to have it in the truck by next weekend, as you said it's not a daily driver. Good Luck |

Alrighty, I ordered up the MG from 4x4connection and I've finally got the bad one out. It seems as if the problem on the original bosch one is the solenoid. It shorts out and smokes but the starter spins so I guess the motor is actually intact. Anyone know where I can order up just the solenoid? I was thinking if it's not to expensive it would be worth repairing this one to keep for a spare. Worthwhile? thanks and happy trails. |

ok...not so interested in that question. how bout this one?: my heat shield didn't exactly fit with the Mean Green so I left it off. In the archives a few people mentioned doing this. Any problems going without?
