I decided to do my breaks last weekend and found out that 3 out of 4 rims would come off. After pounding and beating I took the DII to a shop and they were able to place it on a lift and get them off. My question is has this happened to any of you and if so how do I avoid it next time? I believe that the rims have probably never been off until I did the breaks and I assume this could be the biggest reason why. |

loosen the lugs part way, drive about 10 feet and hit the brakes...you may need to do this a couple of times (may need to disable the ABS by pulling a fuse)...if that doesn't work, 15 lbs sledge...and don't be nice... cheers |

I had same problem. The drama is caused by the centre of the mag being a close fit on the hub - and the hub rusts a little in time. The dealer fix, that owners under warranty should ask for - as a warranty claim - is for the wheels to be pulled off and Never Seize applied to all hubs. |

I always just jacked it up and then hit it as hard as I could. But make sure you have a stable jack and that the entire truck is stable. You will have to hit it hard! Also, while you are in there go ahead and apply anti-sieze to the hubs. It will save you some heartache in the future. Good Luck! Max T. |

Hi All This is very common on new LR`s, as health and safety laws in the UK will not allow copper slip to be applied behind the wheels on the line. a danger to health in such large quantities. We loosen the wheel nuts and drive around the car park in circles and hammer the brakes, then wobble slowly onto the ramp. The dealer should apply copper slip as part of the first inspection. Pete S |
