I have looked at the archive pictures - they are from the top looking down through the transmission tunnel with the gear stick surrounds removed. There aint much room in there. I could not locate the plate with the 3 nuts showing from under the car - any clever hints - I am dying to find out if my mid 02 D2 has the stub. Thanks all. |

Climb under, passenger side, forward of tcase, and reach backwards with your right hand/arm. Its about as far away as it could be but inless you're 500 pounds you should be able to reach it. I think it get hot around there so do it after its cooled down few hours. Dean |

I did it like this: Go to Safarigard.com and print the picture that has the CDL actuator on it. (it is one of their products) Now take picture in hand and crawl under truck. Looking at the picture and not at the truck, start feeling around in the general area. You will feel support braces, bolts, etc. that match the picture. You will see the and feel the area where the nut is supposed to be. It is hopefully (or not) located this way. Kai '02 DII no nut!

Scott, This is what I was told when I went to look for the CDL selector switch. I used a small mirror to confirm mine once I knew where it was. "Gerardo, 1999-2001(first half) had the CDL nipple on the transfer case. You just needed to add linkage or other means of locking the CD. You might want to check to see if you have the nipple or not on your transfer case. If you don't then you'll need to either replace the transfer case or rebuild it with a new housing." There is a very good chance your mid-2002 does not have this selector. Gerry |
