Tell me if this is true..."To lift my suspension (DII w/SLS & ACE) I will need to install new OME springs and shocks front and back, AND SLS spacers".
Will I need to do anything to the ACE?

Not exactly......

You can go with spings and shocks up front and rework the SLS sensor bracket in the rear to "fool" your SLABS unit.

Or you can do a complete spring and shock install, removing the rear airbags, and deactivate the SLS within the SLABS unit (requires testbook)

SLABS - Self Leveling Anti-lock Braking System

There are many SLS D2's out there that have been lifted. Go forth and do a search for the last 365 days.

also...there will be little effect with your ace system.

i have ace (but not sls) on my ' 01 DII and have had no problems with my 3" ome lift. you can visit expedition exchange and i believe there is a gallery showing a white DII with springs in front and a spacer to "adjust" the airbags in the rear so that they inflate higher and "self level" to the front height.

3" OME lift? Are you using spacers or 751's?

Also, anything over 2" with ACE you should really extend the arms on the ACE bar as you might on a standard sway bar. Mike, how long have you been running your 3" lifted ACE setup?

Ive been running a 3" lift with ACE and SLS for about 8 months. I have Rovertym rear spacers and front springs. I havnt noticed a change in the ACE system, but i dont drive it as fast anymore either. Before I had the Rovertym lift, I was using OME HD front springs and tricked the rear sensor for about an 1" lift.

I have also been running about a 4" lift with RTE springs up front and spacers in the rear on an ACE/SLS equipped DII. The truck certainly doesn't handle like stock, but it drives well and doesn't seem to tax the ACE. Of course, I also had to switch shocks (FOX 10.0) and extend the brake lines. Like Rick, I drive a bit slower now on the corners due to the higher CG.

hey al...

yes...751's and spaced 762's in the rear. the "john lee lift."

i have had the lift in since the beginning of summer, i think. no problems that i can tell so far. i asked john and the dealership about doing 3" before i did it, john believed that there would be no problems and, after asking around, the dealership seemed to think there would be no trouble. all the dealership noted was that the ace system would activate more often...but i already figured that.

maybe i will crawl under the truck today and look at how the actuators seem to be dealing with the lift (range wise).
