Before I get rid of the old "hobby" 1995 DI and pick up what may be a 2000 DII I'd like to know if there are any known rust issues that have popped up yet as rust is pretty much the only thing I can't accept with these vehicles (and owning a 95' means I can accept a lot of things as some of you well know).
Aside from that any other idiosyncrocies (spelling?) I should know about?
Thanks

Actually Kyle, I have not noticed any corrosion yet. But mine is still young as it is a '00.

Other things I do hear about or have experienced are:

Radiator issues
Front Driveshaft
Fuel Sending Unit
Differential issues due to ETC

It's early and I don't have coffee yet. I am sure the other D2 guys will chime in.

Paul

I've seen a little rust comming from under the alpine windows on my '99D2, but I live in WI where they put 4" of salt on the road if it snows 2"!

None with my 1999 D2 in VA where they will only use about 1" of road salt at the chance of snow. A buddy had a 2000 D2 that the hinges on the cargo door started to rust but keep in mind that the rear cargo door is the same on the D1 and D2.

I live in CT and I have not noticed any rust spots yet execpt for the back door hinges, but only slighty. The best thing to do is to always wipe down and clean the rear passenger doors undernearth and in between the rubber weatherstrip and also the wheel well. Question to all D2 owners in the NorthEast especially Conn., where can I get greasable U-Js or a driveshaft replacment in Conn.? Thanks

No rust to speak of here on mine in PA...we too are a high salt state. Now, if I could only keep people from running into it though....
Pete, unless there is something I don't know about our UJ's, any driveline shop can install greasable ones for ya.
