This morning i backed my discoII out, not realizing the garage door was still partially down. I scraped my top.. now i have 1/4 inch wide and 2 inches paintless scratch on the roof.

i heard the top is made of aluminum, so it wont rust?

dont know if its worth painting the small area..

the doors and the roof are steel, the rest of the truck is aluminum, so i would say yes, it is worth it...

Same thing happened to me 1 month after I got the truck. Thankfully the security gate at work failed to fully retract and the building paid for it. $900 for paint and minor ding. I'd paint it to avoid rust.

From what I understand is that the DI's have aluminum doors, while the DII's have steel ones (at least the front doors).

It is a D1, and no magnets will stick. I really didn't think that they were steel. Eyarrr

can't argue with physics...DI's are al...pound a beer can flat, glue it over the dent, paint it redish...drive like a madman.

D1: Roof is steel. Doors, hood and rest of body Al.

I'd certainly put something on the scrape for protection, even if it is only touch up paint or primer.

I will get that fixed at some point, but why would you say I should fix it. And what should I do. I do have paint and such.
