I searched the archives and came up wanting; I am going to mount my fire extinguisher and a powertank in a few days, before doing so, I wanted to hear where others have mounted theirs and any laments or praises for their choices... Thanks for a great group... Now, Discuss... |

I would have sworn that there was a write-up in the Tech section for this modification. But alas, no. On a D1, the guy removed one of the storage bins in the rear and mounted the PowerTank there. He drilled down through carpet, padding, and the floor and just bolted in the mounting bracket provided by PowerTank. Actually, poke a hole through the carpet, don't drill. He used silicon to seal up around the holes when done to prevent rust. I would imagine the smaller PowerTank bracket could be used to secure a fire extinguisher in a similar manner. Best of luck.
