Hey guys,

We pulled it off and got it done. Here's the amusing video from that day. Also...I revised the Slitherfest video with new footage.

I've got 3 Disco-boys in my club and thus far they have never showed to a single event.

When the link comes up, you can simply click on any of the 3 videos at the bottom of the page.

This was one event I shouldn't have missed, but I was hundreds of miles away. Next time!

You know, Steve. You're great really good at that stuff. Job well done!!!

I wish I wasn't on the other side of the country so we could meet in person. Perhaps one day.

Oh, I'm happily married by the way.

Chris...

Next week I need to get away from my home on Thursday....stupid location company found some group that wants to shoot a music video for some country singer at my home. It's a money thing. Anyways...I need to get outta here and want to do some offroading. We may hit Big Bear, Gorman's Jeep-Miller or perhaps some new area that is hidden up by Lake Elizabeth. What do you say...you up to getting your pretty little Disco dirty?

Greg....Thanks for the nice compliments. The video stuff is sorta like a hobby and rather fun to make. I'd like to meet a whole lot of you guys, but I can't even get Neil, Chris or Ho to come to any of our events!

I must say that I feel very welcome on this board. Despite the fact that I have a Hummer, I have not once been told to F-off or leave the forum...not even by the die-hards...which makes me think I too should declare my being happily married too? :-)

Steve,

Does your Hummer group have a mailing list? My sons and I drive LRs but are always looking for more interesting runs. Here's a link to a video of a recent competition we entered -- the Nevada Trophy. http://www.kangol.net/LWB/NVTR/2003/final/
Best to right click and 'save target as'.

Doug,

I saw that video already...looks like fun!!! Is that event exclusive to LR's or is it open to anyone?

Oh yeah....Doug:

My group has a mailing list and we try to get out once a month to new places to offroad. We've got H1's, H2's and always a few other off-branders.

It's about offroading, having fun and enjoying what little outdoors is still left for us to play in. We have a zero-tolerance for Brand-oriented ego stuff...so bring what ya got and assimilate!

Send me your email and I'll put ya on the list. The club is free and it would be very nice to FINALLY have some LR representation. This is the part where I throw a dig at Neil, Chris & Ho: collectively known as "Team No-Show", or Team Big-shine, or team My-wife-has-my-balls-and-I-don't-really-actually-honestly-offroad. :-)

Sent the address. Looking forward to info.

BTW, the NVTR is NOT exclusive to LRs. Greg's Austrian Pinzgauer for example placed 4th this year. Next one is a one-day mini rally on October 25th. www.offroadexperience.com

Yeah, we are running with my middle son's D90. We have three trucks in the family -- see www.kangol.net/lwb/

Maybe you should recruit another Hummer to run with you??

Those ELF bastards are nothing but terrorists... They think violence and destruction somehow validates their arguements.

The reality of the situation is this:

Insurance pays for all the Hummers, and while the dealer makes no money, GM basically just moved another 20 vehicles!

In the end...the general cost of insurance goes up and the cost is spread out to everyone. This likely won't hurt you and I since we can already afford costly vehicles....but the little guy who is already on the edge and barely making it....he may just decide he can't afford insurance.

I totally agree with Justin! and Luke...and all of you actually....

Exactly. Those vehicles will be replaced. The air's been badly polluted by the smoke of the burning Hummers and buildings, and by the volatile carrier chemicals in those spray paints they were using. And there are no fewer SUV's in the world. Fools.
