How do you guys get any work done without melting?

For the record Charles, I have a very hard time with the heat here. First place I ever lived that one can sweat just standing in the sun. The worst sweat box is the cockpit of an airplane after it has been sitting in the sun all day.

Funny thing is that my D2 is black. That thing is Africa hot after sitting all day in the sun.

Paul that is a cool game. But I must say, next time we all get together and fly in a Helio, I SHOULD NOT be the pilot .

I just kept crashin' and .

I have lain on the ground in Lejeune, and when I stood up left a body shaped sweat stain.

I'll bet a close second to the hottest place is being number four jumper crammed in to the back of an OV-10 waiting on the tarmac for range control to give clearance.

Did you ever hear the story as to how they determined that Lejeune should be put in Jville?

They sent this old Gunny to find a place for the base. He searched high and low and just couldn't find the right spot. Frustrated, he finally said "God, if the earth were a body, where would you give it an enema?" The next day he found Jville.

Dan, You spent time in the back of an OV-10? Man, I bet that was hot!

Dan,
That correlates to the commonly told story that 29 Palms was turned into a Marine Corps base b/c the Native Americans turned it down for a reservation...
Having done enough CAX's there I am prone to believe it.

Damn you Paul!!!

I got here at work at around 8:50 a.m. It is now 10:00 o'clock and I finally stopped playing that game. Man, talk about addiction!

Of course, I also keep crashing and burning... my best score so far was a lowly 266.

I have hit a whopping 1292. If it was a V-22, I would be doing much better. :-)

Yuma and 29 Palms bring back so many fun memories of hungover days in the sweltering heat.

919 second try, now I can't stop trying to get past it. I guess this turned into a 4 day weekend, since I'm just fooling around today

Paul.

OV-10 was the greatest jump in the inventory. Pull off the tail cone.
Cram four fully kitted guys in the back. (four jumpers, one safety rider)
Loiter off the DZ for a bit. Drop to below 200 ft at 200 knots.
NOE to the DZ. Center of the DZ 45-65 degree pull up. 800 ft green light.
Door man has set with about 7 inches of his ass in the plane, feet flapping in the breeze, unbuckle the seat belt and fall out.
Chute opens below you. All the guys out.
Look off to the side, Bronco loses air speed, wings over, heads to the ground, departs the dz.
800 ft doesn't leave a lot of steering time, do the best you can.
Lower equipment, feet and knees together, eyeballs on the horizon, PLF.
All jumpers shout okay. Pick up your crap, check in with DZ Commander. Forget all about the damn heat. Life is good.

That thing is great fun!! :-)

It's just as sensitve as a real cyclic - use just the slightest of pressure --

Hmm... when frustrated, that might be a better diversion than putting stickers on rover :-)

I think I need to start reading these threads from the bottom up - I keep getting side tracked -- I'm never going to get thru them at this rate...
