I think I have a vacuum leak. However, I can't seem to find it. Does someone have a picture or diagram of all the vacuum lines I should check? 1998 Disco 4.0L Thank you, Brian |

Hi Brian How do you know it a vacuum leak? Is it throwing a code? I forget the code # but when mine comes up as a vacuum leak it ends up being that my son put gas but did not thighten the gas cap. I hope it's an easy fix. Max |

I have no service lights on. The erratic idle worries me so I am trying to track it down before its a problem. |

I've got a similar problem, I've just installed a 2" body lift and I think I have disconnected a vacuum line. I'll be checking it out tommorrow and will try to post a pic or diagram. I'm just going to check all the hoses (If i see a poor connection I will clip a little off and re-connect securly) I have the cd manual and should be able to find a diagram of the lines, but hopefully someone else has some input!! Anyhow heres the fault diagnosis from the manual for our problem... Engine runs well at high speed or high rpm but idles poorly or stalls during idle. The following are suspect problem areas.. 1) For Multi Port Fuel Injection: Check brake vacuum connections, Check heater/ventelation unit vacuum connections. 2) Are HT (Spark Plug) leads correctly routed and clipped? 3) Is fuel supply, fuel pump, ventelation and emission controls system in working order? 4) Contaminated fuel?

Take some carb cleaner (spray can) and give some short blasts around the plenum and vacuum lines. when idles surges - you've found the vacuum leak. Bill |

yes, or you can even use a torch with the gas on low if you dont have any carb cleaner handy |
