Hey folks. I just bought an OME Steering Damper and noticed the hardware is different from stock. Am I supposed to rob stuff off the old setup or can someone tell me how the new setup is supposed to look like? It's a steering damper for a D1 so it only comes with two bushings, two washers, 1 nut and a locking nut (I think that's what it is) per side.

Thanks.

sounds like you have all there is to install your new damper, just did it last week, it will fit in the stock location, just like the old!
oh yes, should be a pin mount on both sides, the defender has a hoop one end and a pin the other, a d1 has the pin end both sides, threaded, dont over tighten, just snug in a bit and use the lock nut!
Peter.

hey guys, I was just installing my steering damper and I wasn't sure of the order in which the parts go on. This is the order I was thinking in order of being closest to damper valve:

inside mounting point:
1) rubber bushing
2) metal washer

outside:
1) rubber bushing
2) metal washer
3) lock nut
4) regular nut

is this right? and it didn't seem to tighten up all the way like the old LR steering damper

Thanks!!
Eric
