cdl light not turning on. lever moves freely from locked to un-locked but i don't think diff lock is engaging. I'm sure this has been addressed already somewhere any info on testing or fixing cdl would be great. 96' SE7 |

Jack up a front wheel and see if it will spin freely when in the *locked* position. If it rotates when in neutral around and around then it is not locking. It could just be the switch sensor thing. Someone else may be able to elaborate or search the archives.

I've done that and the tire spins freely, I'd like to know if the linkage could break in the t-case or what in the t-case could cause the problem? Also info if it is purely mechanical or do I have electronics to worry about? Thanks |

Huh? Why would the wheel rotate in nuetral? Do you mean diff lock in nuetral or shifter in nuetral and why would any wheel rotate in any nuetral? |

Shifter in nuetral. With diff locked front and rear axles are locked together. If all 3 other tires are blocked(on the ground) the 1 jacked up tire should spin when unlocked and not spin when locked. This is my understanding??? |

That is correct Jared .. or at least that is how it should behave. Mine will not spin when I do that. Well it spins about 40 degrees and then stops. Sounds like you have a problem, I can't help unfortunately.
