As I explored a new area of my RRC 87 I came upon a strange thing under my transmission case right where the drain plug should be. I carefully touched becuase it looked like a wierd bug on top of the bolt but when I pushed on it I got squirted with fluid. I looked closer and I noticed that someone had plugged it up with a foam ear plug. What the hell is this!!! That was the funny part but I can't seem to find the right plug to replace it. any ideas where and what size? It isn't the usual part that the usual suspects carry in stock. |

Are you talking about the drain plug on the bottom of the trans. pan? If so, you may not have much ATF left... Just get a new one ASAP from dealer or one the usual vendors. Or are you talking about someone sticking a foam earplug into the water crossing hole in the bottom of the trans bellhousing? If so, no biggie, just pull it out. Normally this hole is open anyway and only supposed to be plugged temporarily during water crossings. |
