I've got to get at some rust behind this moulding piece under the doors. Why can't they have screws, I always break those stupid clips!!!
Has anyone done this successfully?
thanks

damn thing keeps freezing when I try to add a picture.
It's the long plastic piece that runs from the start of the front door to the end of the back door (under the doors outside the car)
There's one on each side and I'm not sure if it's fasten to the mud flap mounts or not.

Whatever it is, I am quite sure I could break it for you. I will go try to figure it out in my workshop manual for you. It might take me a little while, that book is a pia to find anything in, but I will go look right now. Jamie

Kyle, are you talking about the black things that are removed and replaced with rock sliders?

Can you tell if the mud flap is attached TO IT?

Kyle,

The only 2 things that I can find in the workshop manual that look like what you are describing are sill outer assembly and sill inner assembly. Both of those say #1 step is to disconnect both battery leads, negative lead first.

I can't imagine what the battery would have to do with the doors, so I can't figure out what it is. You'd think there would be something under "doors" but this book has no logic to it.

If what you are working on is NOT what is shown on RoverTym website -- post anything that you think the part might be called, and I will be glad to try to look it up again.

I think this is good case of the blind leading the blind, but I am glad to help if I can.

Good Luck...

Kyle - I think you mean the sill panels.

To remove - take a pin punch and gently tap in the centers of each plastic rivet. Once the centers are all punched the panel will come right off.

To reinstall - punch the centers of each fastener all the way out - reinstall sills, and reinsert centers of each fastener to original depth.

No need to break anything

Bill
