Second time in 2 months, with A/C on, compressor kicks in, blows air that's not cold at all as if A/C not working. Was working fine (though I could feel a real difference in how much less cooler the air was when the compressor was cycled off vs. the 95 LWB) right up to the incident. Last time, drove a while and then it started working. Not this time. New battery. With the disco and the LWB off, I compared the battery voltage for both trucks. Disco's battery showed higher voltage than the LWB (LWB's A/C is very cool). The LWB has a window to check for bubbles but the Disco doesn't. Can it be as simple as the Disco needing a R134a recharge? Per LWB workshop manual, if the refrigerant pressure is too low, sensor won't allow A/C to engage. Disco is wife's truck. Please help! It wasn't fun driving in the rain with all windows fogged up. |

I have a 1996 Disco and same thing just happened to me two weeks ago. The reason my a/c was not cooling was because the condesor cooling fans were not working. Check the fuse box in the engine compartment located on the passenger side next to the coolant resevoir. It should be a green 30 amp fuse. Hope this works John |

John, the 30 amp. fuse was fine. I was hoping that was it. Fuse in the compartment under the steering wheel also fine. Other ideas? |

If you just recharged the a/c two months ago, the symptoms are indicative of a leak. Get the system tested, probably the condenser.

Make sure the a/c condensor cooling fans are on when the a/c is on. Just look look through the grill and they should be spinning. If they are then it might be time to take your disco in for an a/c check up. It seemed like you had the same symtoms I had and I wanted to save you a trip to your local garage. Good luck. |
