I'm putting on my lift and can't figure out the brakeline extensions. The stock line has an additional fitting that goes to the brake that I dont have on my extension. Look at the pics and tell me where I'm being an idiot. I'm missing something here that's simple. |

pics?? Anyway - you keep referring to the new lines as "extensions" - they are NOT. they replace the stock lines completely. Better description needed - front/rear? - caliper end or MC end? D1 or D2? Bill |

Ok here are the pics of the brake lines. This is for a 2003 Disco S. The fittings to the caliper are the same front and rear. The first pic is the current line going into the caliper. It seems to have an extra piece flanged into the banjo that goes to a port on the caliper (maybe a return feature?). The next pic is the banjo fitting from my new brake line. How do I install the new lines with this fitting? |

Click on the excel document in my previous post to view the pics. I dumped them in there so I wouldn't have to format them |

Garrett, that's odd. My DII ('00) has the fittings like your new line, not your stock line with that extra section on it. Have you removed a stock line to see if that really is a port behind it? |

Greg, I haven't taken one off yet completely. I started to unloosen it to make sure it was all one fitting. I didn't take it all the way off b/c I figured I didn't have the right line to make the swap. I'm at an apartment complex currently, so I was incognito at the time I was working. I want to have something figured out so I can fix them this weekend. By the way...have you received your 4.5" bumpstops yet? Those things are HUGE. Too big for the existing bracketry and over laps the flat portion on the rear frame area. |

Yeah, they were too big. Don't know where I went wrong w/ my measurements. Anyway, I'll get it on a ramp or something soon so I can figure out how tall they need to be. I removed the factory rubber and welded on a 1 1/2" peice of c-channel, then drilled a single mounting hole. This way I can bolt on an aftermarket bump-stop to the factory mount. |
