So here's what I was thinking: I have 96 D1 with chromed alloys (bling bling). I want to get rid of the chrome. What advice would you all give me with regard to getting my existing wheels refinished? I'd like to have them be black if possible but am open to suggestions... Is there anything special, or is it as simple as sandblast/repaint like with just about anything else?

I'd call some powder coating places! You could try to sandblast the chrome off but its pretty tuff stuf and could take alot of sand and time.. You'd need a good blaster and a big compressor and if its good chrome I'm not sure how its done?? A powder coating place near me will blast and acid dip my rims and powder coat for about $50 (Canadain) per rim...and powder coating is super TUFF! |

take your rims to a chrome shop. the chrome canbe removed in the reverse process in which it was applied. marc |
