Question re: Metal Finishing

I want to get rid of the chrome. What advice would you all give me with regard to getting my existing wheels refinished? I'd like to have them be black if possible but am open to suggestions... You could try to sandblast the chrome off but its pretty tuff stuf and could take alot of sand and time.. You'd need a good blaster and a big compressor and if its good chrome I'm not sure how its done??
