Today I had new Brembo rotors and ferodo pads installed. Front and Rear. The Anti-Lock light was not on when I entered the shop. It was and is still on after leaving the shop. I have read in a few of the previous posts that sometimes, the ABS sensors can be pulled and re seated and this could solve the problem. I have found the sensors but I cannot discern the correct method for removing them (prying, pulling, twisting etc.) Has anyone done this recently? If so, how did you do it. Also, any other possible solutions would be most appreciated. Thanx. p.s. 1996 D1 SE-7 |

1. Unplug the battery negative lead. 2. Carefully clean around each of the sensors so that no crud falls in. 3. Gently pry out. |

I am having a similar problem. I replaced the brake pads front and rear several months ago. Since then, I've been hearing a metalic sound like the pads are dragging on the rotors. Have not been able to pin it down to which wheel. A few weeks ago, the ABS light started coming on periodically; sometimes on, sometimes not. I removed the wheels to look at the sensors, but could not figure out how to remove them. Steve, when you say "gently pry out", could you be a little more specific? I can't see how to do this. Also, if they are bad, how can I tell? Those things are about $300 each, and I'd rather not just replace them all if I don't have to. |
