My front driveshaft is in the shop being fitted with new u-joints. It's a 99 D2. Can I do something to allow me to drive it? BTW - the guy at the driveshaft shop was surprised to see a rover front shaft with the cv (i think he called it a cv at one end of the shaft.) He said he's done rover UJ's before... Is this three jointed shaft normal for 99? Kenny |

The double carden is normal for d2 fronts, What you can do on the 99 d2 is lock the center diff.. Do a search on this site for instructions is stated in many spots BUT you MUST unlock it after the front shaft is back on and before hitting the road again |

Funny, I did just that today. THe front ujoint on my front prop shaft gave out, took it out and dropped it off at the shop. Truck is "funny" offroad with just the rear drive and ETC, has a real lazy, heavy feel to it. |

Thanks, I've seen the stuff on how to lock the center diff. I'll get to it - I've got to wait until Monday afternoon for my shaft. Kenny |

OK - done...way cool! Now I can get about if I really need to while I 'm waiting for the driveshaft. $141.00 to replace all three UJ's. Kenny |
