I have a 95 Disco 5 speed. When the engine is warm I hear a ticking noise. It won't make the noise when the engine is cold or just started. I don't like the sound, and want it resolved. Oh and the noise speeds up with an increase in Revs. Any advice? Thanks for all your posts. Great Website. |

the brass pucks in the rocker assembly need re-staked, they become loose over time and cause just the noise you describe. it's not a big deal to remove the valve covers and remove the shafts. you will then be able to stake them yourself or you can have your mechanic do it all. |

How long would it take a novice to complete this project? This might determine if I attempt or take it to my mechanic. |

i'm guessing based on the amount of time a professional takes, but then they always make it look easy. i would allow myself a weekend for completion so you are not rushed, better start friday though because rover parts counters aren't open sundays. |

Is the ticking coming from the right around the glove box? Sounds like it's from inside the car at first? |
