I bought and installed the 1" lift Green Monster springs and I really like them. My stock springs had sagged 2+" over the 140,000 miles I had driven. The new springs ride a little stiffer (better cornering), gave a true 1" lift (20.5" from center of wheel to lip of wheel took the springs off-road on medium trails and had good articulation (read: stuffed the wheels). I would recommend them.

Why do you say OME are POS?

I also have not heard anything bad about the green monsters yet, why do you say they are ugly?

I really like mine too...

You can't really see it, but I have a 2" lift, 215/75 tires, two guys on the roof along with a week worth of camping materials for 4 guys in one car. The springs handle great on and off road - epecially coupled with OME shocks - it's exactly the combo of a good soft ride for the turns and small bumps on the road, but stiff and reactive off-road. It's like the first inch or so of flex is soft, but after that it gets nice and stiff. This seems to allow the shocks to work well too. My truck is very comfortable to sit in on the back roads because of the Green Monster springs.

Here are 3" w/ OME shocks. Worked great at Moab. Ditto R.B.'s comments above on ride and sway. I ditched the rear anti-roll bar when I did the lift. Didn't miss it at all.

Yeah,

I have been thinking about the 4-5" monsters. Either that or scorpion racing.

I ditched both my sway bars a few weeks ago, running the OME HDs, and I haven't really missed them either. It's different, but it still corners mant times better than some other SUVs.

I love the way it smoothed out the ride and flex off road.

Cheers,

Kennith

If i were to purchase the "2-"3 Green monster springs for a DI, what type shocks and everything would i need to get? Are there any other things mandatory to get if i did get shocks and springs(extended brake lines or anything)? Should i get a larger spring or shock in the front consider i have the brush guard and winch, and an adventure roof rack? Any help appreciated, welecome to email at rover7592@yahoo.com with any suggestions.

Garrett,

You can use the OME HD shock setup and never go wrong. Any shock you would use when installing the OME 2" lift springs w/ 1" spacers will work.

With the 3", you'll want to fab up a ~1.5" spacer for the rear brakelines & ABS wiring. I used 16ga mild steel sheet with the stock bracket as a template.
Longer front brake lines are also a good idea, but are really only mandatory if you install front shocks that allow a lot of extra droop.

When I spoke with Andy Nix on the phone, he indicated the 3" Green Monsters would handle an overbuilt bumper w/ winch without drooping the nose. I have a LRNA brushguard today. The adventure rack isn't a particularly front heavy weight bias, so I don't think it will be an issue.

I've had my 3" Green Monsters w/OME's in since May and have been completely satisfied.

If you have any more questions, don't hesitate to email me. The postage might be a little more, with me being in Canada and all...

Cheers,

Shawn

Shawn,
If you dont mind my asking how much did the whole setup cost altogether? I'm trying to work everything out (after i get a snorkel), to have a lift put on. So if i get the "2 springs, i'll need to have the Old Man Emu Heavy Duty Springs, and one inch spacers? I'd rather not get in over my head with the ABS and everything, and would rather have the "2 springs. How is it for everyday driving? I've got many more questions i'd like to ask if you have time, please email at rover7592@yahoo.com when you have a chance, i am trying to plan this out in advance. Thanks a lot shawn.
