Looks like used, mid-80's, rebadged Monteros. Without the class.

IFS, leaf springs in the back. Nice.

Yes, it appears that those are the same as a Crosslander except it looks like they are built by the original manufacturer, ARO, in Romania. (The Crosslander is an ARO built under license in Brazil). However, instead of an LR-derived diesel from Brazil, the SMD version sticks in a Mazda 3.0 V6. The contact listing for the SMD sounds like a residential address.

Either version, I'll bet won't last in the US.

About three years ago there were about a dozen of these in Jacksonville. I drove one and they are complete shit. The build quality leaves alot to be desired. These trucks were not ready to be sold when I drove it due to some lingering customs issues.

We are getting a Crosslander Dealership where I live. I was looking at a Chrysler Pacifica for the Mrs and the dealers were all over me about the Crosslander. I told them that the Pig was a Rover Product and I didn't know jack about the xlander.

seems like lots of people are pulling out of the Crosslander dealerships. seems like lots of the information has been floating around is 50% what was originally said. and the product itself seems like a good concept, but the end product does not follow through. get what you pay for in the end as usual.
crosslander looks to be a cracker jack toy compared to a rover.
