The cable that attaches the rear door latch to the handle came off again. So I have been crawling over my stuff via the back seat to open the door from the inside. The thing is though that I had a LR dealership fix this about 3 weeks ago. Is this a common problem? I'm having some mods done, so I will have these guys fix it this time. Is there anything I should be looking for or replacing? And this all happened about 30 min after I had just removed the door trim to reverse the tire carrier! Why not 30 min before... Thanks for any info, Jamil |

Jamil, I have had this several times. The trouble is the rod inside the door becomes detached from the plastic gromit/fitting that turns the mechanisism. A trick is to open up your rear door, that is remove sub-woofer, panel etc.. and take a pair of needle nose pliers and increase the slight bend in the rod that is just before the plastic part. That will help it stay attached. Also reqularly lubricate the external handle. If you live north particularly important when road salt is being used. Same for rear hinges. Joe |
