Anybody know how to get a fault out of the ABS system when the light stays on? I may have a bad sensor, but want the code to find out. I am buying the OBD-2 stuff to use from http://obd-2.com Will that get the ABS codes as well as engine codes? Also, once I replace the sensor if that is the case, how many cycles until the light goes out? Can I reset it with the obd2 software? Thanks. |

It will only give you OBD 2 codes. You will be able to read and clear codes that trigger your Check Engine light, but you won't be able to access proprietary subsystems like the ABS. - Axel

I just finished testing and it appears that one of the wires on the sensors were bad. I fixed the wire and the ABS is no longer doing the pulsing for no reason, and the sensor is showing the same resistance as the other sensors now, so I think I am all fixed. How long until the code clears itself and the light goes off if that was indeed my only problem? Is there a number of engine cycles w/out fault? Or, anybody know how to reset the ABS code without the test book? |
