Hi All,

I have recently been in contact with Eddie Cline at Raingler.com in regards to their cargo nets and dog guard nets. I am very interested in a dog guard net for my Disco because my seats end up folded down as often as they are up, so the ease of removal and storage of the guard is a must. Eddie Cline came on Discoweb a little while ago asking for product input and that was where I first heard about it: ../17/26040.html>

They were unable to garner enough interest though to actually produce a guard net for Discovery's. Eddie told me that he needs at least 5 people willing to purchase a net to make it viable for his company to go through the production. They would be priced around $110 each, and they must be all for the same vehicle series (i.e., all Series I Discoverys or all Series II Discoverys).

So, I am looking to see if there are 4 people out there who would be interested in one of these guard nets for their DI's? Please either contact me at
rbd4a@yahoo.com or Eddie Cline at ecline@raingler.com if you are interested. I have never actually handled a Raingler net in person, so I can not personally attest to their quality. All I know is what I've read and seen online. Thanks.

Robbie

if i had the money, i'd put in to help you out, but alas, such is not the case. sorry dude. my main point for posting is that i'm a Jeep owner as well as a Rover owner, and over on Jeepsunlimited.com i have heard nothing but great things about their products and their customer service. if this deal goes through, i don't think you'll be dissappointed.

That net looks nice! I'm not interested in the dog guard net, but they should consider making a adventure rack net. Maybe 4'x6' with small openings. That'd be sweet!!!

I agree. I'd like to have one for both the rear load space and my full-size Wilderness rack (but with small openings). I had an incident a couple of months ago on the PA turnpike where I lost some gear off my rack at about 70 MPH.

I had all kinds of tie downs on the gear and for extra protection, one of those bungee nets. The wind must have pushed one or two items loose enough to slide out of the tie-downs and then all heck broke loose.

The plus side was seeing this lime green beatle dragging one of my camp chairs down the road for several miles throwing sparks. No damage to anyone or other property, just some busted gear.

Well last time i spoke with Eddie about customizing nets, he said they are planning to put on new feature, when you can basically specify measurements for your net, and they would tailor it. It was like 2 months ago, so.. :-) Probably ought to ask him again, as i am good customer - got stuff for my XTerra from them - interior and xterrior - awesome products.

Btw Steve - their nets are VERY good for external racks, i have one for my conferr - it keeps load through trails/highways like there is nottttthing , and keeps profile way lower than any other net, so you aint getting that drag :-) Go for it! (but be sure to work out measurements first)

Does Eddie have an idea of how he was going to make attachements for the D1s? I know he came on here a while back asking us questions and such and was trying to come up with a relatively easy way to do it. Just wondering if he ever managed to come up with something.

Well, I guess there was the interest here on the board, but basically nothing happened. He was unable to get a DI or DII in the shop to make measurements and see what he could do. If anyone local to Raingler with a DI could drop by and let Eddie measure it up, would appreciate it. Also, if you are interested in the dog guard, please let me know so that we can get 5 of us in on ordering up a set. If we can get 5 of us together, and we are his first order, we could probably get the guard made to our exact specs.

If it comes to be, I'll DEFINITELY take a barrier for the rear, especially if it can be moved from behind the rear seats to behind the front seats for when the rear seats are needed to be folded down. As long as pricing is reasonable, tell him that I'll definitely take one... RS

Well i dont really need dogs guard net, as i dont have any :-)

But i would love to get same net as interior Xterra net, b/c rover got nearly same issue with lots of wasted cargo space. Only problem i see with it - there are no mointing points :-(
